It's just...another day for them!

It’s just another day for RAJU, a 13 year old boy in a local village of Assam. He wakes up early at 6 a.m. daily, gets ready , so as not to go to school, but on to his job. He serves tea at a tea stall. His brother wipes off the car’s glasses at a red light near by.

This is how we have fostered! A perfect time to study, to learn and to groom oneself, but on the contrary, this boy makes close to 50 bucks daily. Isn’t it a fair deal???
In a county like India, we boast about a lot of plans and strategies for child developmental activities, but do we actually monitor their execution and the glitches.
Ironically the plans for road side children are being penned down in A.C. offices…far from the ground realities…do they actually know the pain areas?

Ironically, on this coming Nov. 20, we are going to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Convention of Rights of the Child (CRC), which propagates that all children are born with certain fundamental rights. All should be given equal opportunities to participate, to be listened to, irrespective of their caste, creed, sex and the religion. All are entitled for their due shares.

Digital divide and regional imbalances are creating wide pits, we are expected to come out of these hurdles and accelerate the pace of socio-economic development of the most crucial segment of our society, the children. ledger wise, we have enough resources, both in terms of monetary, but the paradox is that , are they being channelized in the right manner ?

Juvenile Crime, Child Abuses, Child Labor, Beggary, a cumulative projectile can be drawn , if the cases are counted.

Lets do not expect others, but take initiatives on our own and preach “Each one Teach One”. Ensure that we don’t have any maid working for us below 18. Office road side chaii wallas should not have any non school going chotus. Lets not a child clean the shit of another child .

Lets aspire for a HAPPY NATION and make a difference.
